Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the city center of Puno. Head southeast on Jirón Lima towards Av. El Puerto. Follow this road as it turns into Av. Tacna. Continue on this road until you reach the intersection with Av. Simón Bolívar. Turn left onto Av. Simón Bolívar and follow it until you reach the roundabout. Take the second exit onto Av. Costanera, which will lead you directly to Puerto de Puno. The drive should take approximately 10-15 minutes, depending on traffic. Ensure you have enough fuel as there are limited gas stations near the harbor.
Public Transportation (Bus)
To reach Puerto de Puno using public transportation, go to the main bus terminal in Puno. Look for buses headed towards the waterfront or 'El Puerto'. These buses frequently run throughout the day and the fare is usually around 1-2 soles. The journey will take approximately 20-30 minutes. Once you arrive at the waterfront area, you may need to walk a short distance to reach the harbor.
Taxi
Taxis are widely available throughout Puno. You can either hail a taxi on the street or book one through a local app. Tell the driver you want to go to Puerto de Puno. The fare should be around 10-15 soles. The ride will take approximately 10-15 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.
