Bus
From the main bus terminal in Puno, take a bus heading towards Juliaca. Inform the driver or conductor that you wish to stop at Inca Lake. The bus ride will take approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. Once you arrive at the closest point to Inca Lake, you may need to walk a short distance to reach the lake itself.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a local taxi from anywhere in Puno. Ensure you agree on the fare before starting your journey. The taxi ride to Inca Lake will take approximately 30-40 minutes, depending on traffic. The driver will be familiar with the location, so you can simply ask to go to Inca Lake.
Walking
For those who are adventurous and physically fit, you can walk from the center of Puno to Inca Lake. Begin at Plaza de Armas and head south on Avenida 28 de Julio. Continue walking until you reach the outskirts of Puno, where you will find signs pointing towards Inca Lake. The walk is approximately 2 hours and provides beautiful views along the way, but be sure to wear comfortable shoes and stay hydrated.
