Car
From the city center of Tarapoto, take the Carretera Tarapoto a Yurimaguas (also known as the Tarapoto-Yurimaguas road) heading east. Continue on this road for approximately 14 kilometers. Look for signs indicating Waterfall Ahuashiyacu. The waterfall entrance will be on your right side. There is parking available nearby, but a small fee may be charged (around 5-10 soles).
Public Transportation - Bus
Head to the main bus terminal in Tarapoto. Look for buses or colectivos (shared taxis) heading to Ahuashiyacu or Yurimaguas. The fare is typically around 3-5 soles. Inform the driver or conductor that you wish to visit Waterfall Ahuashiyacu. The bus will drop you off at the entrance of the waterfall, which is about a 30-minute ride. Be prepared for a short walk from the drop-off point to the waterfall itself.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a taxi from Tarapoto. Negotiate the fare beforehand; it should cost around 25-40 soles depending on your negotiation skills. The taxi will take you directly to the entrance of the waterfall where you can easily access the trails leading to the falls. This option is convenient if traveling in a group.
