If you're traveling by car, start from the nearest major city, which is Chachapoyas. From Chachapoyas, head south on the PE-8E road for about 30 kilometers. You will see signs for Catarata Gocta along the way. Upon reaching the town of Cocachimba, take a left turn towards the entrance of the Gocta waterfall trail. There is a parking area near the trailhead where you can leave your car. The drive takes approximately 40 minutes.

To reach Catarata Gocta using public transport, start from Chachapoyas. Head to the local bus terminal and take a bus to Cocachimba, which is the closest village to the waterfall. Buses run frequently throughout the day, and the fare is usually around 10-15 soles. The bus ride takes about an hour. Once you arrive in Cocachimba, you can either walk to the trailhead or hire a local taxi to get you closer to the entrance.

After arriving at the Cocachimba village, you will need to hike approximately 5 kilometers to reach Catarata Gocta. The trail is well-marked and offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
