Public Bus
From the center of Tacna, head to the main bus terminal located at Calle San Martín. Look for buses labeled 'Los Palos' or 'Cruz del Sur' that are heading towards the outskirts of Tacna. Board the bus and ask the driver to let you know when you reach 'Av. Jorge Basadre'. The journey will take approximately 20-30 minutes. Once you get off, head towards the direction of Av. Jorge Basadre Grohmann. Walk straight for about 10 minutes until you see the sign for Museo de Sitio Las Peañas on your left.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi from anywhere in Tacna. Simply tell the driver 'Museo de Sitio Las Peañas' or provide the address: 'Pago Peañas, Av Jorge Basadre Grohmann S/N'. The taxi will take you directly to the museum, and the ride should take around 15-20 minutes depending on traffic.
Walking
If you are staying relatively close to Av. Jorge Basadre, you can walk to Museo de Sitio Las Peañas. Start from the main square, Plaza de Armas, and head south on Calle Comercio until you reach Av. Jorge Basadre. Turn right and continue walking straight for about 1.5 kilometers. You will see the museum on your left side. It’s a pleasant walk with some local shops along the way.
