Car
If you are traveling by car from Puerto Maldonado, take the Interoceanic Highway (Route 30C) towards the Tambopata National Reserve. Continue on this road for approximately 40 km until you reach the entrance of the reserve. Once you enter the reserve, follow the signs towards Castaña Amazon Park. The park is located about 15 km from the reserve entrance. Keep an eye out for signage along the way, as roads can be unmarked.

Public Transportation
From Puerto Maldonado, you can take a bus or shared van heading towards the Tambopata National Reserve. Make sure to inform the driver that you are going to Castaña Amazon Park. The journey will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on road conditions. After arriving at the entrance of the reserve, you may need to hire a local taxi or arrange for a pickup to reach the park, which is about 15 km away from the entrance.

If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a taxi from Puerto Maldonado to Castaña Amazon Park. This will be more expensive than public transport but will save you time and hassle. It's advisable to negotiate the fare beforehand. Expect to pay around 100 to 150 soles for the trip, as it covers approximately 55 km.
