If you are traveling by car, start from Butuan City, which is a common entry point to Caraga. Head southeast on the N855 road towards the town of San Francisco. Once you reach San Francisco, continue on the N855 until you reach the crossing with the Surigao-Davao Coastal Road (AH26). Turn left onto AH26 and proceed north until you reach the town of Tubajon. From Tubajon, take the road leading to Basilisa, Dinagat Islands. Be prepared for a ferry ride from Surigao City to Dinagat Islands. The ferry ride takes approximately 30 minutes and costs around 200 PHP for a passenger ticket. Once you reach Basilisa, follow local signs to Lake Bababu, which is a short drive from the port.
Public Transportation
To reach Lake Bababu via public transportation, start your journey at the Butuan City Bus Terminal. Board a bus heading to Surigao City. This trip will take about 2-3 hours and costs approximately 150 PHP. Once you arrive at Surigao City, head to the port and catch a ferry to Dinagat Islands. The ferry ride costs around 200 PHP and takes about 30 minutes. After disembarking in Dinagat, look for a local jeepney or tricycle that can take you to Basilisa. The fare for the jeepney is typically around 20-30 PHP. Upon reaching Basilisa, ask locals for directions to Lake Bababu, which is a short distance away.
