Car
If you are traveling by car, you can start your journey from Tacloban City, the capital of Eastern Visayas. Drive towards Biliran Province via the Biliran Bridge. The approximate distance is around 90 kilometers and will take about 2 to 3 hours depending on traffic. Once you reach Almeria, look for signs directing you to Ulan-ulan Falls. The falls are located at the coordinates JCGP+6PQ, Almeria, Biliran. After parking your vehicle at a nearby safe location, you may need to hike approximately 15-20 minutes on a well-maintained trail leading to the falls.
Public Transportation (Bus)
To reach Ulan-ulan Falls via public transportation, take a bus from Tacloban City to Naval, Biliran. Buses leave frequently from the Tacloban Bus Terminal, and the fare is approximately PHP 100-150. The journey should take around 2 hours. Once you arrive at Naval, transfer to a local jeepney or tricycle heading towards Almeria. The fare for this leg is around PHP 20-30. Inform the driver that you are going to Ulan-ulan Falls. After arriving in Almeria, you may need to walk or take a short tricycle ride to the trailhead leading to the falls, where you will hike for about 15-20 minutes.
Public Transportation (Van)
Another option is to take a van from Tacloban City to Naval, which is often faster than the bus. Vans depart from the Tacloban Van Terminal. The fare is typically around PHP 150, and the travel time is approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Upon reaching Naval, follow the same instructions as with the bus route: transfer to a jeepney or tricycle to Almeria and then head towards Ulan-ulan Falls by foot or tricycle to the trailhead.
