If you're traveling by car, start your journey from Manila. Take the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) and continue to the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX). From SCTEX, merge onto McArthur Highway and follow the signs toward Baguio City. Once you reach Baguio, take the scenic route toward Atok and then to Sagada. The Blue Soil Hills is located just outside of Sagada. Be aware that the roads can be steep and winding, so drive carefully. There are no entrance fees for the site itself.
Public Transportation - Bus
From Manila, you can take a bus to Baguio City. Several bus companies like Victory Liner or Genesis Transport offer daily trips. The fare is approximately PHP 500-700 and the journey takes around 6-8 hours depending on traffic. Once in Baguio, transfer to a bus bound for Sagada. The fare is around PHP 200-300 and takes about 5-7 hours. Once you arrive in Sagada, you can hire a local tricycle for around PHP 100-150 to take you to the Blue Soil Hills, which is about 15-20 minutes away from the town center.
Motorbike Rental
If you prefer a more adventurous option, you can rent a motorbike in Sagada. Rental prices range from PHP 500-700 per day. This allows you to explore the area at your own pace. From Sagada, head southeast on the main road and follow the signs to Blue Soil Hills. The ride is approximately 15-20 minutes. Make sure to wear a helmet and drive carefully as local roads can be narrow.
Tricycle
Once you are in Sagada, taking a tricycle is a convenient option to reach Blue Soil Hills. You can find tricycle drivers near the Sagada Municipal Hall. The fare is usually between PHP 100-150 for a round trip. Make sure to negotiate the price before getting in. The ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes. It’s advisable to ask the driver to wait for you while you explore the area.
