Exploring the Majestic Mount Malboro

Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start your journey from the main road leading to Mount Pulag. Follow the signs towards the Mount Pulag National Park entrance. Once you reach the entrance, pay the entrance fee, which is typically around PHP 50 per person. After entering, continue driving along the winding mountain roads for approximately 30 minutes until you reach the Ranger Station. From here, you will need to park your vehicle as the road becomes narrower and unsuitable for regular cars. The hike to Mount Malboro begins from the Ranger Station. Make sure to register at the station and inform the local guides that you are heading to Mount Malboro.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Mount Malboro using public transportation, take a bus bound for Baguio City from your location. Once in Baguio, transfer to a jeepney that goes to Kabayan. Inform the driver that you are heading to Mount Pulag. The jeepney ride will take approximately 2-3 hours. Once you arrive at the jump-off point for Mount Pulag, you may need to hike or arrange for a local guide to take you to the Ranger Station. Be sure to check the schedule of the last jeepneys returning to Baguio to ensure you have enough time for your hike. Upon arrival at the Ranger Station, register and prepare for your hike to Mount Malboro.

• Hiking

  After reaching the Ranger Station, you will need to hike to Mount Malboro. The trail to Mount Malboro is well-marked but can be steep in some sections. It typically takes around 1.5 to 2 hours to reach the summit from the Ranger Station. Make sure to bring enough water, snacks, and appropriate hiking gear. As you ascend, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and landscapes. Once you reach the summit of Mount Malboro, take your time to enjoy the scenery before making your way back down to the Ranger Station.
