Car
If you are starting from Cagayan de Oro, take the National Highway (also known as the Sayre Highway) heading south. Follow the signs for Bukidnon, which will take you through scenic mountain views and lush landscapes. Continue on this road for about 2 hours until you reach the town of Bukidnon. From Bukidnon, follow the signs to Valencia City and then to Malaybalay. After that, continue south towards the towns of Impasug-ong and then to the Davao-Cotabato Road. This route is approximately 3-4 hours from Cagayan de Oro to Davao City, which is a good entry point to Mindanao.
Public Transportation (Bus)
From Cagayan de Oro, head to the bus terminal (Agora Bus Terminal) and purchase a ticket to Davao City. Buses like Rural Transit or Bachelor Express regularly depart every hour. The bus ride takes about 5-6 hours and the fare ranges from PHP 400 to PHP 600. Prepare for a comfortable journey with several stops along the way for refreshments. Once you arrive at the Davao City bus terminal, you can hire a taxi or use ride-sharing apps to reach your specific destination within Mindanao.
Air Travel
If you prefer to fly, you can take a flight from Laguindingan Airport, which is the nearest airport to Cagayan de Oro.
