Getting There

• Walking

  If you are starting from the Puerto Princesa City Baywalk, head northeast along the waterfront until you reach the main road, Rizal Avenue. Turn left onto Rizal Avenue and walk straight for about 1.5 kilometers. You will pass by various shops and local eateries. When you reach the intersection with Malvar Road, turn right. Continue walking straight for approximately 500 meters, and you will see the Old Public Market on your left. It is a vibrant place filled with local produce, handicrafts, and street food vendors.

• Tricycle

  From any point in Puerto Princesa, you can easily hail a tricycle. Tell the driver you want to go to the Old Public Market, which they will recognize. Most drivers are familiar with the location. The ride typically takes around 10-15 minutes depending on traffic, and the fare should be around 10-20 PHP. Once you arrive, you will be dropped off right outside the market, where you can explore the various stalls and local products.

• Pedicab

  If you prefer a more leisurely ride, you can opt for a pedicab. These are often available near tourist spots or busy areas. Simply tell the driver you want to go to the Old Public Market. The journey will take about 15-20 minutes, and the fare is usually around 20-30 PHP. They will take you directly to the entrance of the market.

• Bus

  If you are coming from the Puerto Princesa airport or other distant areas, you can take a bus heading towards the city center. Get off at the intersection of Rizal Avenue and Malvar Road. From there, you can either walk to the market (about 500 meters straight ahead) or catch a tricycle for a short ride. The bus fare is typically less than 50 PHP, and the journey can take 30 minutes to an hour depending on traffic.
