From Cebu, take the ferry to Surigao City, which costs around PHP 600-800 depending on the ferry service. Upon reaching Surigao, drive south on National Route 1 to reach Butuan City. The drive is approximately 3 hours and takes you through scenic routes. Once in Butuan City, follow signs for Butuan Bay, which is located just a few kilometers from the city center.

For those opting for public transportation, take a bus from Cebu City to Surigao City. Various bus companies operate this route, and the fare ranges from PHP 400-600. Once you arrive in Surigao, transfer to a bus heading to Butuan City. The bus ride takes about 3 hours and costs around PHP 200. After arriving in Butuan City, you can take a local tricycle or habal-habal (motorcycle taxi) to get to Butuan Bay, which is approximately 5 kilometers away.

Ferry and Bus
An alternative route for those starting from Iloilo City is to take a ferry to Bacolod City, then a bus to San Carlos City. From San Carlos, take another ferry to Dumangas. Upon reaching Dumangas, board a bus to Surigao City. This journey involves multiple transfers and can take a full day. After arriving in Surigao, follow the earlier instructions to reach Butuan City and then Butuan Bay.
