Car
If you are driving, start your journey from Iloilo City. Take the Diversion Road and head towards the town of Janiuay. Follow the signs leading to Janiuay, which is approximately a 40-minute drive (around 30 km). Once in Janiuay, you can use a local map or GPS to navigate to the base of Mt. IDAY, which is located in the outskirts of the town. Be prepared for some rough roads as you get closer to the mountain.
Bus
To reach Mt. IDAY via public transportation, head to the Jaro Liko Terminal in Iloilo City. Look for buses headed to Janiuay, which are frequent and cost around PHP 50 to PHP 70. The bus ride will take about 1 hour. Upon arriving at the Janiuay bus terminal, you can hire a tricycle (around PHP 20-30) to take you to the base of Mt. IDAY. Make sure to confirm the drop-off point with the driver.
Tricycle
Once you reach Janiuay, you can hire a tricycle to take you directly to the base of Mt. IDAY. The fare usually ranges from PHP 50 to PHP 100, depending on your negotiation skills and the distance to the specific trailhead you want to access. Confirm the price before you start your journey.
Hiking
After reaching the base of Mt. IDAY, prepare for a hike to the summit. The trail is moderately challenging, so ensure you have proper footwear and enough water. It generally takes around 1.5 to 2 hours to reach the top. Be mindful of your surroundings and follow any local guidelines or markers along the path.
