Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the nearest major city, Évora. Take the N114 towards Montemor-o-Novo. After approximately 25 km, turn right onto M370. Continue on M370 for about 10 km until you reach the Escoural Cave, located near the village of Freguises. There is a parking area available near the cave entrance.
Public Transportation
To reach Escoural Cave via public transportation, take a bus from Évora to Montemor-o-Novo. Buses generally run a few times daily, so check the schedule ahead of time. From Montemor-o-Novo, you will need to take a taxi to Escoural Cave, which is about 15 km away. Expect to pay around €15-€20 for the taxi ride.
Walking
If you are feeling adventurous and are already in Freguises, you can walk to Escoural Cave from the village. The cave is about 1.5 km from the center of Freguises. Follow the M370 road, heading east, and you will arrive at the cave in approximately 20-25 minutes.
