Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving to Praça do Município from anywhere in Alentejo, start by getting on the A2 motorway towards Lisbon. Follow the signs for Lisbon and take the exit towards A1 toward Norte. This will lead you into the city center. Once you reach Lisbon, follow the signs for Praça do Comércio and then for Praça do Município. Be aware of parking options nearby, as street parking can be limited. There may be parking fees depending on the area.

• Train

  For those traveling by train, take a train from any major town in Alentejo (like Évora or Beja) to Lisbon. The main train station in Lisbon is Santa Apolónia. From Santa Apolónia, you can either walk to Praça do Município (approximately a 20-minute walk) or take a taxi or rideshare service. If walking, head south towards the river and then west along the waterfront until you reach Praça do Comércio, then turn north to reach Praça do Município.

• Bus

  If you're using public transportation via bus, look for intercity buses that connect Alentejo towns to Lisbon. Once you arrive at the main bus terminal in Lisbon (Sete Rios or Gare do Oriente), you can take the Metro (Blue Line) to Baixa-Chiado station. From Baixa-Chiado, it's a 10-minute walk to Praça do Município. Follow the signs to the Praça do Comércio and then head north to reach the square.

• Metro

  If you find yourself in central Lisbon, the closest Metro station to Praça do Município is Terreiro do Paço on the Blue Line. You can take the Metro to this station and then exit toward the square. The square is just a short walk from the station.
