Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving to Praia de Boião from anywhere in the Algarve, start by navigating to the town of Alvor. From Albufeira, take the A22 highway towards Lagos. Take the exit for Portimão and follow the signs to Alvor. Once in Alvor, follow the signs to Praia de Boião. There is limited parking available near the beach, so be sure to arrive early during peak season. Note that parking may incur a fee of around €1-€2 per hour.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Praia de Boião by public transport, take a bus from major towns in the Algarve like Faro or Albufeira heading to Portimão. From Portimão, transfer to a local bus (line 12) that goes directly to Alvor. Once in Alvor, it’s a short walk (approximately 15 minutes) to the beach. Be sure to check the local bus schedules ahead of time, as they may vary, and a one-way ticket typically costs around €2.

• Walking

  If you're already in Alvor, walking to Praia de Boião is a pleasant option. From the town center, head towards the coastline, following the signs to the beach. The walk is about 20 minutes along a scenic path, allowing you to enjoy the local scenery and atmosphere. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes, as the route may include sandy paths.

  Biking is another great way to get to Praia de Boião if you’re in Alvor. Rent a bike from local shops in Alvor and follow the designated bike paths along the coast.
