Getting There

• Public Transportation

  From Aveiro city center, walk to the Aveiro bus station (Terminal Rodoviário de Aveiro) which is about 10 minutes on foot. Once there, take a bus heading to Coimbra (the journey takes about 30-40 minutes). Upon arrival at the Coimbra bus station, exit and look for signs directing you to the local buses or taxis. If you prefer, you can take a taxi directly to Choupal National Forest, which is approximately a 10-minute drive from the bus station.

• Walking

  If you prefer a more adventurous route, you can walk from the center of Aveiro to Choupal National Forest. Begin at Praça do Peixe, head northwest on Avenida Dr. Lourenço Peixinho, then follow the signs to the train station. From the train station, cross the railway and follow Rua dos Combatentes da Grande Guerra until you reach the main road (EN1). Continue on this road towards Coimbra, and after about 2.5 kilometers, you will see the entrance to Choupal National Forest on your right. This walk will take you approximately 40-50 minutes.

• Bicycle Rental

  For a more enjoyable experience, consider renting a bicycle in Aveiro. You can find rental shops around the city center. Once you have your bike, head towards the main road (EN1) and cycle towards Coimbra. The Choupal National Forest is located along this route, approximately 2.5 kilometers from Aveiro. The ride will take you around 15-20 minutes.
