Car
If you're driving, start from Ponta Delgada. Head north on the EN1-1A road. Continue for about 20 km until you reach the Ribeira Grande area. Once in Ribeira Grande, follow the signs to Lagoa do Fogo. Turn onto Estrada Regional da Lagoa do Fogo and keep going until you see Centro de Interpretação Ambiental da Caldeira Velha on your right. There is parking available nearby.

To reach Centro de Interpretação Ambiental da Caldeira Velha using public transport, take a bus from Ponta Delgada to Ribeira Grande. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Ribeira Grande, look for the bus stop near the city center. From there, you may need to take a taxi or arrange a rideshare service to reach the Centro, as direct bus service may not be available.
