Bus
From the center of Braga, head to the main bus station, which is located at Avenida da Liberdade. You can walk there in about 10-15 minutes from most central locations. Once at the bus station, purchase a ticket to Guimarães. Buses to Guimarães run frequently. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. After arriving at the Guimarães bus station, exit the station and follow the signs towards the city center, which is about a 15-minute walk.
Train
Walk to the Braga train station, located at Rua João de Deus. This should take about 10-15 minutes from the city center. At the train station, buy a ticket for Guimarães. Trains run regularly between Braga and Guimarães, and the journey takes around 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Guimarães train station, exit the station and follow the signs to the city center, which is about a 20-minute walk.
Walking
If you prefer to walk, you can take a scenic route to Guimarães. Start by heading east on Avenida da Liberdade, then follow the path along the river until you reach the outskirts of Guimarães. The walk is approximately 25 kilometers and will take around 5 hours, so ensure you are well-prepared with water and snacks.
