Getting There

• Bus

  From Braga, head to the Braga Bus Station located at Avenida da Liberdade. Look for the bus services heading to Guimarães, which are frequent. Purchase your ticket to Guimarães and board the bus. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Guimarães bus station, exit and head straight towards the city center. You will see signs directing you to the historical area. Continue walking for about 10 minutes until you reach Praça de São Tiago, which is located at number 10.

• Train

  Start at Braga Train Station, which is located at Avenida da Liberdade. Look for trains heading to Guimarães; they run regularly throughout the day. Purchase your ticket and board the train. The ride takes approximately 40 minutes. Once you arrive at Guimarães Train Station, exit and walk towards the city center. Follow the signs indicating 'Centro Histórico' and after about a 15-minute walk, you will arrive at Praça de São Tiago, located at number 10.

• Walking

  If you are in the center of Braga, you can walk to Praça de São Tiago in Guimarães, although it is a long trek of around 24 kilometers and will take approximately 5 hours. Start your walk by heading northeast on Avenida da Liberdade, then take Rua de São Marcos and follow the signs toward Guimarães. Make sure to take breaks and stay hydrated. Once you arrive in Guimarães, follow the signs to the historical area, and you will find Praça de São Tiago at number 10.
