Bus
From the center of Braga, head to the main bus terminal, Estação de Autocarros de Braga. You can walk there from Praça da República, taking Rua do Comércio. At the bus terminal, look for the bus line that goes to Bom Jesus do Monte. Typically, the bus line '99' will take you directly to Bom Jesus. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive, follow the signs to the Bom Jesus Staircases.
Walking
If you prefer to walk, starting from Praça da República, head east on Rua Dr. Justino Cruz. Continue straight to Rua de São Marcos, which will lead you towards the base of the Bom Jesus hill. The walk is approximately 4 km and will take around 1 hour. Upon reaching the base, you will see the entrance to the Bom Jesus Staircases, which are immediately visible. Enjoy the scenic climb!
Taxi
For a more comfortable option, you can take a taxi from anywhere in Braga to Bom Jesus do Monte. Simply call a taxi or use a ride-hailing app, and provide the driver with the address 'Estr. de São Pedro, Braga'. The ride will take about 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic, and will drop you off at the entrance to the Bom Jesus Staircases.
