Walking
Start your journey at the Cascais train station. Exit the station and head towards the main road, Av. Valbom. Turn right and walk straight until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Av. Dom Carlos I. Continue walking along this avenue until you reach the beach. Once you reach the beach, follow the coastline by turning left onto the promenade. Continue walking along the promenade until you reach the Boca do Inferno viewpoint. From here, take the path that leads to the cliffside. Follow the signs towards Forte de São Jorge de Oitavos and keep walking along the scenic coastal path. The fortress will be on your left, overlooking the ocean.

Public Transport (Bus)
From the Cascais train station, head to the bus stop located just outside the station. Look for the bus number 403, which heads towards 'Estoril.' Board the bus and stay on until you reach the stop 'Forte de São Jorge de Oitavos.' Make sure to check with the bus driver if you are uncertain about the stop. Once you get off, follow the signs leading to the fortress, which is just a short walk from the bus stop.

If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the rental shops in Cascais. Start from the Cascais train station and head towards the coastal bike path. Follow the bike path along the coast, enjoying the beautiful views of the ocean. Continue cycling until you reach the area near Boca do Inferno. There will be signs directing you to Forte de São Jorge de Oitavos. The bike ride offers a scenic route and is a great way to enjoy the surroundings.
