Once you arrive at the Mafra bus station, exit and head towards the main road (N9). Walk straight along the road for about 10 minutes, and you will see signs directing you to Forte do Zambujal.

Start at Cascais train station, near the town center. Take the train to Sintra and change at Sintra station for a train heading to Lisboa (Lisbon). Get off at the next stop, which is 'Mafra.' From the Mafra train station, you can take a local bus (check the schedule at the station) or walk approximately 20 minutes to Forte do Zambujal, following signs towards the fortress.
