If you are starting from the Coimbra city center, head towards Praça do Comércio. From there, walk north on Rua Ferreira Borges. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Rua da Sofia. Turn left onto Rua da Sofia, and keep walking for about 10 minutes. The Biblioteca Joanina will be on your right, located within the University of Coimbra campus.

From the Coimbra bus station, take bus line 34 or 35 towards the University area. Get off at the 'Universidade' stop. Once you disembark, head towards the main entrance of the University of Coimbra and walk straight ahead. The Biblioteca Joanina is located just a short walk inside the university grounds, on your left.

If you are at the Coimbra-Universidade train station, exit the station and head towards the main road (Avenida de Emídio Navarro). Turn left and continue straight until you reach the roundabout. Take the second exit onto Rua do Arco de Almedina, which leads up to the university. Follow this road for about 15 minutes, and the Biblioteca Joanina will be on your right as you enter the university campus.
