Walking
If you are in the city center of Coimbra, start at the Praça do Comércio. From the square, head towards the Rua Ferreira Borges, passing the iconic Santa Clara-a-Velha on your left. Continue straight until you reach the junction with the Rua da Sofia. Turn left onto Rua da Sofia and walk uphill. You will pass by the University of Coimbra's impressive buildings. Keep walking until you see the entrance to the Jardim Botânico straight ahead. The entrance is marked by the Puerta de R. Arco da Traição, which will be on your right.

From the Coimbra Train Station (Estação de Coimbra-A), exit the station and head towards the main road (Avenida Emídio Navarro). Turn left and walk straight until you reach the traffic light. Cross the road and follow the signs to the University of Coimbra. Ascend the hill using the Rua da Sofia. After a short walk, you will see the Jardim Botânico entrance at Puerta de R. Arco da Traição on your right.
