Walking
Start from the Coimbra city center, near the Praça 8 de Maio. Head north on Rua Ferreira Borges, then take a left onto Rua de Sofia. Continue straight until you reach the Avenida Emídio Navarro, where you will see the beautiful view of the Mondego River. Cross the bridge over the river and follow the path leading uphill towards the historic city area. Once you reach the top, continue along the path until you see the Barbican Gate on your left.
