Breathtaking Views at the Viewpoint of Frende

Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving to Viewpoint of Frende, start on the N-222 road, which is the main route through the Douro Valley. From Peso da Régua, head east on N-222, following the signs for Frende. After approximately 20 km, turn left onto the road signposted for Frende. Continue on this road for about 5 km, and you will reach the viewpoint. There is a small parking area available for visitors.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Viewpoint of Frende using public transportation, take a train from Porto to Peso da Régua. The train journey takes about 2 hours. Once in Peso da Régua, you can catch a local bus to Frende. Check local bus schedules in advance, as they may not run frequently. The bus will drop you near the village of Frende. From there, it is a short walk uphill to the viewpoint. Be sure to check the bus return times to ensure you can get back to Peso da Régua.

• Walking

  If you are already in Frende, reaching the viewpoint is straightforward. From the village center, head towards the signs indicating the viewpoint. The path is well-marked, and it will take approximately 20-30 minutes to walk to the viewpoint. Wear comfortable shoes as the path can be steep in some areas.
