As you approach Colares, look for signs directing you to Cabo da Roca. The drive takes approximately 40 minutes, depending on traffic. Once you reach Cabo da Roca, park in the designated parking area (note that there may be a small fee for parking). The stunning views and cliffs await you just a short walk from the parking area.
Public Transportation
Start your journey at the Sintra train station. Take the train from Sintra to Cascais (approximately 30 minutes). Once you arrive in Cascais, head to the Cascais bus terminal and catch the Scotturb bus number 403, which goes directly to Cabo da Roca. The bus ride takes around 40 minutes. Make sure to check the bus schedule ahead of time as services may vary, especially during off-peak seasons. When you arrive at Cabo da Roca, you’ll be greeted with breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean.
Taxi or Rideshare
If you prefer a more direct route, consider booking a taxi or using a rideshare service like Uber from Lisbon or Sintra. This option is more expensive but offers convenience, especially if you're traveling in a group. From Lisbon, the ride will take about 40 minutes, while from Sintra it will be around 20 minutes. Discuss the fare with the driver beforehand or check the app for estimated prices.
Cycling
For the more adventurous, consider cycling from Sintra to Cabo da Roca. The distance is roughly 16 km and features a mix of scenic roads and paths. Begin your journey at the Sintra train station, then follow the N247 towards Colares. From Colares, continue to Cabo da Roca. Be prepared for some steep inclines and ensure you have proper cycling gear. It’s advisable to start early in the day to enjoy the cooler weather and ample daylight.
