Getting There

Walking
If you are in the center of Sintra, start at the Sintra Train Station. Head south on Av. Dr. Miguel Bombarda towards R. 1º de Maio. After about 10 minutes of walking, you will reach the bus stop for bus 434. Take the bus towards the Pena Palace. Get off at the last stop, which is the entrance to the palace. From there, you can enjoy the beautiful surroundings or start your hike up towards the palace.

To reach Chiado in Lisbon from Sintra, walk to the Sintra Train Station. Purchase a ticket for the train to Lisbon (approximately a 40-minute ride). Once you arrive at Rossio Station in Lisbon, exit the station and walk towards the metro station. Take the Green Line metro towards Cais do Sodré and get off at the Chiado station. From there, you will be in the heart of Chiado, where you can explore shops, cafés, and the famous São Carlos Theatre.
