Purchase a ticket to Vila Real de Santo António, which is the nearest train station to Monte Gordo. The train ride takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Vila Real de Santo António, you can take a taxi or a local bus to Monte Gordo, which is only about 5 km away. The taxi ride should be quick and inexpensive.
Bike
For a more adventurous route, consider renting a bike in Faro. You can find several bike rental shops around the city center. Once you have your bike, head east towards Monte Gordo, following the coastal path that runs along the Ria Formosa. The ride is approximately 20 km and offers scenic views of the coastline. Make sure to follow the signs for the bike path, which will lead you directly to Monte Gordo.
