Trains to Tavira run regularly throughout the day, and the journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Tavira train station, you can easily walk into the town center to start your visit.
Bicycle
If you're feeling adventurous, you can rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in Faro. From the city center, take the N125 road heading east towards Tavira. The distance is approximately 30 kilometers, so be prepared for a ride that could take around 2 hours. Enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way, and follow the cycling paths where available. Once you reach Tavira, you can lock your bike and explore the town.
Walking
Walking from Faro to Tavira is not recommended due to the distance of about 30 kilometers, but if you wish to explore the route on foot, start at Praça da República and head east towards the N125 road. Be sure to follow the pedestrian paths and take breaks as needed. This would be a long trek, taking several hours, so be well-prepared with water and snacks.
