From the center of Guimarães, make your way to Praça Oliveira, which is a well-known square. From there, head towards Rua Cândido dos Reis and continue straight until you reach the end of the street. Turn left onto Rua do Carmo and follow this road until you reach the bus station called 'Guimarães - Terminal Rodoviário'.
Bus
At the Guimarães bus station, look for buses heading to Porto. You can take a direct bus to Porto, which is approximately a 50-minute ride. Make sure to check the bus schedule for departure times. Once you arrive at the Porto bus station, follow the signs to the metro station.
Metro
At the Porto bus station, take the metro from the Campo 24 de Agosto station. Board the metro on the Yellow Line (Line D) towards Santo Ovídio. After four stops, get off at the 'São Bento' station. From São Bento station, follow the signs to the exit leading to Rua de Ferreira Borges.
Walking
As you exit São Bento station, walk towards the Ribeira area by heading down Rua de Ferreira Borges and then to Cais da Ribeira. Keep walking towards the Douro River, and you will reach Calçada de Vandoma, which is located along the riverbank. Look for the iconic views of the river and the Dom Luís I Bridge.
