Walking
If you're starting from the Guimarães city center, head towards the main square, Praça de São Tiago. From there, walk straight down Rua de São Tiago until you reach the intersection with Rua de Cândido dos Reis. Turn left onto Rua de Cândido dos Reis and continue walking until you reach the end of the street. You will see the bus station, Estação de Autocarros. From there, take the bus heading to Barcelos and get off at the Barcelos bus station. The Museu Arqueológico is a short walk from the bus station, just head northeast on Avenida da Liberdade, and then turn right onto Rua 1º de Maio until you reach the museum at 4750-323 Barcelos.

From the Guimarães bus station, take a bus that is heading to Barcelos. Buses are relatively frequent, but it’s a good idea to check the schedule. The journey takes approximately 30 to 40 minutes. Once you arrive at the Barcelos bus station, exit and head northeast on Avenida da Liberdade. Then, turn right onto Rua 1º de Maio and continue until you reach the Museu Arqueológico located at 4750-323 Barcelos.
