Walking
From the center of Guimarães, start at the Praça de Santiago. Head northwest onto Rua de São Pedro, continuing straight until you reach the intersection with Avenida Dom João IV. Turn left onto Avenida Dom João IV and walk straight for about 1.5 kilometers. You will pass several shops and cafes on your way. Continue until you reach the roundabout at Praça da República. Take the second exit onto Avenida de Londres. Follow this road until you see signs for the train station, Estação de Guimarães. From there, you can catch a train to Porto. Once in Porto, make your way to the bus or metro station to continue to Parque da Cidade do Porto.
Public Transport
From the center of Guimarães, walk to the nearest bus stop, which is located at Praça de Santiago. Take the bus line number 1 or 7 towards Porto. The bus ride will last approximately 30 minutes. Disembark at the stop for 'Casa da Música' in Porto. From there, walk towards Avenida da Boavista. Follow the signs for Parque da Cidade, which is about a 15-minute walk. You will pass by several shops and beautiful architecture on your way.
