Walking
From the city center of Guimarães, start at Praça de Santiago. Head north on Rua de Santa Maria until you reach the roundabout. Continue straight onto Avenida de Dom João IV. Walk straight for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the bus station (Terminal Rodoviário de Guimarães). From there, catch a bus to Barcelos. The bus journey will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Barcelos, follow the signs to the Ponte de Barcelos, which is a short walk from the bus station.

Head to the Guimarães train station, which is located just south of the city center. Purchase a ticket for a train to Barcelos. The train journey will take around 25 minutes. Once you arrive at Barcelos station, exit and walk straight along Rua 1 de Maio. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with R. Fernando Magalhães. Turn left, and the Ponte de Barcelos will be just ahead.
