Start at the Guimarães city center, specifically at the Praça de Santiago. From there, head southeast on Rua de Santo António until you reach the intersection with Rua de São Paulo. Turn right onto Rua de São Paulo and continue walking until you reach the Estação de Comboios de Guimarães (Guimarães Train Station). Once at the train station, take a train to Porto. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Upon arrival at Porto's Campanhã station, exit the station and follow the signs to the metro. Take the Metro Line A (Blue Line) towards Senhor de Matosinhos and get off at the 'Estádio do Dragão' station. From there, follow the signs to the Circular Regional Interna do Porto, where Ponte do Freixo is located. The bridge will be visible and is roughly a 10-minute walk from the metro station.

Begin your journey from the Guimarães city center, specifically near the Praça de Santiago. Walk to the nearest bus stop and take the 'Transdev' bus heading to Porto. The bus ride will take approximately 45-60 minutes. Once you arrive in Porto, get off at the 'Campo 24 de Agosto' stop. From there, you can take tram line 1 towards 'Infante' and get off at the stop 'Cais de Ribeira'. Walk along the riverfront towards the Ponte do Freixo, which is around a 20-minute walk and offers scenic views of the Douro River along the way.
