If you are in the center of Guimarães, start at Praça de São Tiago, which is a central square. From there, head northwest along Rua de São Tiago until you reach the intersection with Rua de João de Meira. Turn left onto Rua de João de Meira and continue straight until you reach the main road, Avenida Dom Afonso Henriques. Cross the road and continue on the same path until you reach the bus stop 'Guimarães - Estação de Autocarros'. From here, take the bus line that goes towards Valongo (check local schedules for times). Get off at the stop closest to 'Ponte de Couce' in Valongo, which will be announced during the ride. Once you arrive, walk towards the bridge which is nearby.

Once you arrive at Valongo, exit the train station and head southwest on Rua do Comércio until you reach Rua da Ponte. Turn right and continue straight for about 10 minutes.
