If you are in the historic center of Guimarães, make your way to the Guimarães train station (Estação de Guimarães) which is about a 15-minute walk. From the station, head south on Avenida de Dom João IV. Continue straight until you reach the roundabout, then take the second exit onto Avenida da República. Follow this road until you reach the Praça de Santiago, where you will see a large square. From there, head towards Rua de Santa Maria, which will lead you into the heart of the historical area. Continue straight and you will arrive at Praça da Batalha in approximately 30 minutes.
Bus
You can take the local bus from Guimarães to Porto. Look for the bus stop near the Guimarães train station. Board the bus that indicates Porto as its destination. After a short ride, approximately 30 minutes, you will arrive at the bus terminal in Porto. From the bus terminal, walk towards the city center; Praça da Batalha is about a 15-minute walk from there. Head south on Rua de Fernão Almeida and continue straight until you reach Praça da Batalha.
Train
To reach Praça da Batalha via train, head to the Guimarães train station and take a train towards Porto. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Porto train station (Estação de São Bento), exit the station and head southwest on Rua de 31 de Janeiro. Continue straight, and you will arrive at Praça da Batalha in about 10-15 minutes. Follow the signs for the city center, and you will see the square ahead.
