Getting There

Walking
From the Guimarães Castle, head southwest on Rua de Nossa Senhora da Consolação towards Rua de Alberto Sampaio. Continue straight for about 500 meters until you reach the Praça de São Tiago. At the square, turn left onto Rua de São Tiago, and walk straight for approximately 600 meters until you reach the end of the street. Here, turn right onto Rua de Santa Maria, and continue until you find the bus stop near the Igreja de São Miguel do Castelo. Take the bus to Porto, and once you arrive at Porto, follow the signs to the metro station.

Public Transport
From the Guimarães train station, take the train to Porto São Bento station. The journey takes around 50 minutes. Once you arrive at São Bento station, exit and head towards the Praça de Almeida Garrett. From there, take the metro from the Aliados station (Blue Line) towards Estádio do Dragão. Get off at the Coração de Jesus station. Walk about 10 minutes down Rua de Coração de Jesus towards Escadas do Barredo, where the Torra de Rua is located.

If you're feeling adventurous, you can walk from Guimarães to Porto. Start at the Guimarães Castle and head towards the city center. Follow the signs towards the Estrada Nacional 206, which will lead you directly to Porto. It's approximately a 55 km walk, so make sure to plan for a full day and take breaks along the way. Once you reach Porto, navigate towards the historic district until you arrive at Escadas do Barredo.
