Porto to Madrid Up to 2 Stops: Salamanca & Avila
Probably better without stops.
Pickup was prompt as scheduled. Plenty of room for 4 adults and 2 weeks of luggage. Alfredo was very polite and helpful. We had ordered a trip to Madrid from Porto with 2 stops. We agreed to lunch at Aguila which was closer to Madrid. We may have no understood the role of the driver at the stops. We were dropped off to explore but no guided suggestions. In retrospect it would have been more efficient to drive without additional stops. Of some concern was the development of an engine issue during the last 2 hours that reduced power in the mountains as well as the A/C. Alfredo perservered and we made it to our hotel, but I did fear for our driver who had fluids leaking from his vehicle. We hope he made it home ok.
