Walking
If you are in Alfama, the easiest way to reach Arco do Castelo is by walking. Start at the Miradouro de Santa Luzia, a popular viewpoint in Alfama. From here, head south down the Rua das Regateiras, which will take you towards the intersection with Rua de Santa Cruz do Castelo. Turn left onto Rua de Santa Cruz do Castelo. Continue straight for about 200 meters, and you will see Arco do Castelo on your right, located at number 10.
Tram
You can also take the iconic Tram 28, which routes through Alfama. Board the tram at any stop along the route. Get off at the stop 'Castelo' (the stop before the last one, 'Martim Moniz'). From there, walk along Rua de Santa Cruz do Castelo for approximately 5 minutes. Arco do Castelo will be located on your left at number 10. The tram fare is approximately €3.00.
Taxi or Ride-Sharing
For a more comfortable option, you can take a taxi or use a ride-sharing app like Uber. Just input 'Arco do Castelo, R. de Santa Cruz do Castelo 10, 1100-223 Lisboa' as your destination. The fare will depend on your starting point but expect it to be around €5 to €10 for a short ride within Alfama.
