Walking
If you are already in Alfama, start at the famous Sé de Lisboa (Lisbon Cathedral). Exit the cathedral and head towards the Rua da Oliveira. Continue straight until you reach the Largo de São Miguel square. From there, take the street that leads you to the Miradouro de Santa Luzia, which is just a short walk away. You'll see the beautiful viewpoint ahead as you approach, with its iconic azulejos (traditional tiles) and stunning views over the Tagus River.

To reach Miradouro de Santa Luzia from further away, you can take Tram 28. Board the tram at any nearby stop and enjoy the scenic ride through Alfama. Get off at the 'Miradouro de Santa Luzia' stop. From there, it’s just a short walk to the viewpoint. Note that tickets for the tram cost around €3.00, and you can purchase them on board or at the tram station.

You can also use the metro to get closer to Alfama. Take the metro to the 'Santa Apolónia' station on the blue line. Exit the station and follow signs for the exit to the river. Once outside, walk up the hill towards Alfama, following the signs for the Miradouro de Santa Luzia. The walk will take approximately 15-20 minutes, and you’ll be rewarded with beautiful views along the way.
