Train
If you are in central Lisbon, head to the Cais do Sodré station. Take the Fertagus train towards Setúbal. The journey will take approximately 50 minutes. Once you arrive at Setúbal station, exit the station and head towards the bus stop located just outside. Take the local bus number 2 or 3 towards Troia, which will take you closer to Forte de São Filipe. Get off at the stop 'Castelo de São Filipe'. From there, it's a short walk up the hill to the fortress.

From Praça do Comércio in central Lisbon, take the bus number 101 towards Setúbal. This bus service provides a more direct route to the town. After about 1 hour and 15 minutes of travel, you will arrive at Setúbal bus station. Once you are at the bus station, walk to the nearby bus stop and catch the bus number 2 or 3 towards Troia. Get off at the stop 'Castelo de São Filipe', and then walk uphill to reach the fortress.

Ferry
For a scenic route, take the ferry from Cais do Sodré to Troia. The ferry ride takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Troia, take the local bus that connects to Setúbal. Disembark at Setúbal, then catch bus number 2 or 3 towards the 'Castelo de São Filipe' stop. From that stop, walk up the hill to the fortress.
