Walking
If you are starting from the Setúbal city center, head towards Avenida Luísa Todi, the main pedestrian street. Walk down this avenue until you reach the waterfront. From there, turn right and follow the promenade along the river until you reach the end of the marina. Continue straight on until you see a sign for Forte de Albarquel. The fort is located in the Albarquel park area, which is accessible via a walking path. Keep an eye out for the fort's distinctive structure as you approach.
Public Transport (Bus)
From Setúbal city center, walk to the nearest bus stop (e.g., at Avenida 5 de Outubro). Take bus number 15 or 17 heading towards Albarquel. The journey takes about 15-20 minutes. Get off at the Albarquel stop. Once you disembark, walk towards the beach area and follow the signs that lead you to Forte de Albarquel, which is a short walk away.
