Augostinho was our tour guide (family with 2 children aged 5 and 7). He is a very likable and service-oriented person. Our hikes with two donkeys through the beautiful landscape were problem-free after we had taught the donkeys that they could not constantly pause and eat. Augostinho had made the route available to us on the "Ride with GPS" app, which made it very easy for us to locate ourselves at any time. For our 3-day stay, we had booked the spacious apartment with a large garden from him; a daily breakfast basket filled with delicious local products included - a very successful stay!

STUNNING Experience

Absolutely INCREDIBLE experience! My parents, brothers, and I (5 in total) were in Northern Portugal for a wedding, and found ourselves with a free day to explore. We booked this trip, guided in English by the owner, Miguel, and his son, Rui. While Rui was the primary English speaker (and a great one at that), Miguel was a tremendous communicator and the duo made our experience unforgettable. We spent the entire day together, traveling to the town they are from, to the church Miguel was married at, and throughout the mountain ranges. This was easily one of the coolest international experiences we’ve had, and WELL WORTH the money. It feels very typical and true to the region and country, not touristic at all. We had an amazing lunch together, complete with regional specialties and drinks. Wildlife, scenic panoramas, swimming in dreamy blue lagoons with cascades, eating and drinking traditional fare with the locals… we could not recommend this excursion more. The difference makers are Miguel and Rui - we felt like close friends by the end of the day, and we can’t thank them enough. Hope to meet again one day!! Jim, Lisa, Patrick, Kevin, and Jim

Serra D' Arga Tour: Hike, Waterfalls, Cornbread workshop & picnic

Fantastic walk in the Serra D'Arga - high recommended!

My wife booked the full day experience, with tour of the waterfalls and making of broa or traditional corn bread. This was a fantastic experience in all aspects. Agostinho was very prompt and clear in all his communication with us, and also showed himself flexible when we had to change the date due to the weather. The bread making experience was wonderful and the lunch we had with the bread we'd made (with meats and cheese as well as local honey and spreads) was delicious and very filling. It was great to try the local varieties of Vinho Verde (Green wine). On the walk, Agostinho set a good pace, and was great at answering all the questions we had about the local area. We got to spend time by the waterfalls, and being able to have an additional stop for a snack was helpful. Given the current Covid-19 circumstances I was impressed by the measures in place. Agostinho wore a visor and mask where necessary (and was clear with us when we needed to do so) and with both the lunch and the snack had separate tables for us and gel to clean our hands. I'd definitely like to do another walking experience here and would not hesitate to recommend Descubra Minho.
