Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Ponte de Lima, head southeast on Avenida dos Combatentes da Grande Guerra toward Rua 1º de Maio. Continue straight for about 500 meters until you reach the Ponte de Lima bridge. Cross the bridge, which leads you onto the N202 road. After crossing, follow the N202 for approximately 6 kilometers. You'll pass through beautiful countryside and small villages. When you reach the village of Melgaço, keep an eye out for local signs directing you to the Castle. The castle is located at R. do Castelo 30, Melgaço, and should be visible from the main road as you approach.

  • Bus

    From Ponte de Lima, go to the Ponte de Lima bus terminal located near the center of town. Take a bus heading towards Melgaço. The bus ride typically takes around 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at the Melgaço bus station, exit and walk northeast along Avenida de D. Pedro IV for about 300 meters until you reach R. do Castelo. Turn left onto R. do Castelo and follow it for approximately 200 meters. The castle will be on your right.
