Walking
Starting from the center of Ponte de Lima, head northeast on Rua Direita towards the main square, Praça da República. Continue straight until you reach the junction with Avenida dos Combatentes. Turn left onto Avenida dos Combatentes and walk until you reach the train station (Estação de Ponte de Lima). From the train station, head east on Rua dos Três Reis until you reach the roundabout. Here, take the second exit onto N202, which leads to Monção. Follow this road for approximately 11 kilometers. Keep an eye out for bus stops along this route, where you can wait for a bus to Monção.

From the center of Ponte de Lima, walk to the bus station located on Avenida dos Combatentes. Check the schedule at the station for buses heading towards Monção (look for 'Monção' on the destination signs). Purchase your ticket at the ticket counter or from the bus driver. The bus ride to Monção takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Monção, disembark at the main bus stop. From there, head southeast on Rua da Estação towards the river. Follow the signs to the Passadiços da Fortaleza, which is approximately a 10-minute walk from the bus stop.

If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in Ponte de Lima. Start at the Ponte de Lima riverfront and head towards the N202 road. Follow the N202 northeast towards Monção. The bike ride will take approximately 30-40 minutes, depending on your pace. As you arrive in Monção, follow local signs to the Passadiços da Fortaleza, which is located near the river. Ensure you have a map or GPS for the final navigation.
