Walking
If you are starting from the historic São Bento Railway Station, exit the station and head out onto Praça Almeida Garrett. Turn left onto Rua de 31 de Janeiro. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Rua de Sá da Bandeira. Turn right onto Rua de Sá da Bandeira and keep walking until you reach the Ribeira area. You will see the beautiful riverfront along the Douro River. Follow the riverbank to your left, and in about 15 minutes, you will arrive at Praça Ribeira, a lively square with stunning views.
Metro and Walking
If you are near the Trindade Metro Station, take Line A (Blue) or Line B (Red) towards Estádio do Dragão or Póvoa de Varzim respectively. Get off at the São Bento Metro Station. From there, exit the station and follow the instructions for walking from São Bento Railway Station to Praça Ribeira as described above.
Bus
If you are at the Aliados Avenue, take bus number 500 from the Aliados bus stop towards 'Casa da Música'. After about 15 minutes, get off at the stop named 'Ribeira'. From there, walk straight towards the Douro River, and you will find yourself at Praça Ribeira in a few minutes.
Tram
If you are near the Jardim das Virtudes, you can take Tram Line 1 that runs along the riverfront. Board the tram in the direction of 'Infante'. Get off at the 'Ribeira' stop. Once you exit the tram, walk towards the river, and you will see Praça Ribeira just a short distance ahead.
