Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start from Seia, which is the nearest city. Head southwest on N339, following the signs towards Serra da Estrela National Park. After approximately 10 km, you will reach a fork; take the route towards Poço da Broca do Muro. Continue on the road, and you will see signs indicating the way to Poço Fundeiro. The total driving time from Seia is about 20-30 minutes depending on traffic conditions. There is no parking fee, but be aware of weather conditions as roads can be challenging.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Poço da Broca do Muro using public transportation, first take a bus from Seia to the nearest town with access to hiking trails. Check the local bus schedules at the Seia bus station. After arriving at the drop-off point, you will need to hike approximately 3-4 km to reach the Poço. Make sure to wear suitable footwear and bring water, as the trail can be steep and uneven. Bus fares can vary, so it’s advisable to check current rates beforehand.

• Hiking

  If you prefer a more adventurous route, you can hike directly from Seia to Poço da Broca do Muro. The trail begins at the base of the mountain and is marked. It is approximately a 6 km hike that takes you through beautiful natural landscapes. Make sure to start early in the day, and consider bringing a map or using a GPS device as some trail markers may be difficult to spot. The hike can take around 2-3 hours depending on your pace.
